AKIN GUMP STRAUSS HAUER & FELD Eric Dreiband, 42, has joined Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld as a partner in the labor and employment practice. Most recently, he was general counsel at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He received his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law.
BLANK ROME Minh-Quan Pham, 36, is now an associate in the intellectual property and technology practice group of Blank Rome, where he had been a patent agent and summer associate. He is a recent graduate of Georgetown University Law Center.
BRAND RESEARCH CO. Paul Bloom has joined Brand Research Co. (part of Greenfield/Belser) as an associate. Bloom, 58, is also a professor of marketing at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler School of Business.
HUNTON & WILLIAMS Orson Swindle, 68, a former commissioner at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, has come aboard Hunton & Williams’ Center for Information Policy Leadership as chair of information security projects and senior policy adviser.
JONES WALKER Edward Crosland has been hired by Jones Walker as a special counsel. He will focus on corporate and securities law with an emphasis on banking and financial services. Before joining the firm, he was a partner at Cozen O’Connor. Crosland, 61, received his J.D. from Washington & Lee University School of Law.
SALLIE MAE Anne Milem, 34, has joined Sallie Mae as as assistant general counsel focusing on litigation matters. Most recently, she was a senior associate at Arent Fox. Milem earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
STERNE, KESSLER, GOLDSTEIN & FOX Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox has hired five associates, four of whom were former summer associates. W. Blake Coblentz, 29, joins the biotechnology/chemical group. He received his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law. Scott Schaller also joins the biotechnology/chemical group. Schaller, 33, earned his J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law. Christopher Walsh, 33, a former patent agent with the firm, is another addition to the biotechnology/chemical group. He received his J.D. from the George Washington University Law School. Lei Zhou is also a new member of the biotechnology/chemical group. Zhou, 42, received her J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law. James Pohl, 35, joins the electronics group.
