McKenna, Long & Aldridge has snagged another top-level government official for its white-collar crime practice. Joshua Hochberg, the former chief of the fraud section in the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice, leaves after 33 years as a prosecutor which included stints in the public integrity section and as an assistant attorney general with the New York State Medicaid Fraud Control Unit. “It’s a high-stress job,” Hochberg, 57, says. During his seven years at the helm of the fraud section, Hochberg led the investigation into Enron Corp. as well as the prosecution of the now-defunct accounting firm Arthur Andersen. At McKenna, he will aid the firm, which has such clients as Lockheed Martin and a number of pharmaceutical companies, with health care fraud investigations as well as with probes into government contractors, says white-collar partner Michael Scheininger. Last month, the firm hired Department of Homeland Security official Jason Klitenic.
