Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s largest legal search firm, announced today the addition of Managing Director John Noyes in Boca Raton, Florida. Noyes will serve the greater South Florida market. “We are always very delighted to bring in experienced and dedicated people like John into our company,” said MLA’s Chief Executive Officer Carter Brown. “He provides MLA with an instant and viable presence in South Florida which will augment the exemplary recruiting efforts of our Atlanta office.” Noyes began his practice as a civil litigation associate at Murphy, DeMarco & O’Neill in Boston. From 1991 to 2001, Noyes practiced in the Boston office of the Washington, D.C. firm of Bonner Kiernan Trebach & Crociata, and served as regional coordinating counsel for one of the world’s largest restaurant corporations. His practice at BKTC involved both trial and appellate litigation of premises and product liability cases, wrongful death and discrimination, and other civil matters. From 2002 to 2004 Noyes served as the national coordinating counsel and a senior litigation attorney for Office Depot in Delray Beach, Florida where he oversaw the defense of all insurable litigation against the company, and worked with a panel of approximately 75 outside counsel throughout the U.S. During that time, Noyes participated in numerous mediations in a variety of state and federal jurisdictions. He has also lectured on product liability litigation for the Defense Research Institute (DRI), and has been a member of that organization since 1989. Noyes attended Suffolk University Law School in Boston where he received his J.D. cum laude in 1989, and earned five American Jurisprudence awards for scholarship.
