San Francisco Cozen O’connorelevated Erik Kowalewskyand Steven Rodriguezto members in its international insurance group. Kowalewsky, who recently was an associate with Augustini & Wheeler in Los Angeles, is a 1999 graduate of Georgetown University Law Center. Rodriguez, previously an associate with Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith, graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1997. John Potterhas joined Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver& Hedges’ San Francisco office as a partner. Potter, who was an assistant United States attorney in Los Angeles and a partner at Covington & Burling, will specialize in white-collar defense, internal investigations and civil litigation. He graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in 1986. Thomas Foxhas been named to the American Health Lawyers Association’s inaugural class of fellows. Fox, who is a partner in ReedSmith’s health care group, splits his time between the firm’s San Francisco and Washington, D.C., offices. He is a 1966 graduate of George Washington University Law School. Charles Preuss, a partner with Drinker Biddle & Reath, was named a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Preuss, who is head of Drinker Biddle’s products liability practice group, received his J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1969. Gordon & Reeshas added Karineh Khachatourianas a partner in its intellectual property and business litigation groups. Khachatourian, who has extensive experience in IP litigation and complex business disputes, previously practiced at Dechert’s Palo Alto office. South Bay Beth Williamshas joined Baker & McKenzieas a partner in the firm’s Palo Alto office. Williams, who is part of the North American tax practice group, graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1978. Robert Campbellwas named assistant county counsel of Santa Clara County. He previously worked in Sacramento, where he was the chief counsel for the California Department of Finance. The Association of Legal Administrators awarded its highest honor, the Presidents Award, to the Silicon Valley chapter. Bergeson administrator and finance manager Jan Silva, who is the president of the Silicon Valley chapter, accepted the award on the organization’s behalf. East Bay Oakland-based Law Center for Families has chosen Dan Boltonas its first director of litigation. Bolton has 22 years of experience in mass tort, class action and complex litigation cases. He is a 1982 graduate of Hastings College of the Law. Southern California David Fongand Justin Simonshave joined the real estate practice at the Los Angeles office of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan. Fong joins the firm as a real estate special counsel. He is a 1993 graduate of New York University School of Law. He was previously a principal at First Street Realty Investments Inc. Simons, who is an associate at the firm, graduated from UCLA School of Law in 2000. He joins Stroock from United Talent Agency.
