George Gordon served as co-lead or lead trial counsel in cases that involved some of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the world, representing Pfizer Inc. and Elan Corp. He also acted as co-counsel in antitrust cases involving drugs such as Paxil and Relafen. He is an antitrust/competition and commercial litigation partner at Dechert, maintaining an international practice. In 2004, Gordon concluded a three-year international antitrust case in front of an arbitrator panel in Luxembourg in Granite Stone Business International v. Rock of Ages Corporation. Working as lead counsel, Gordon won a multimillion-dollar award for his client and defended against counterclaims. In 2003, he served as co-lead attorney, delivering oral argument before the 3d U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, in Turicentro v. American Airlines. He had followed the antitrust action since the case began in district court, defending the airline against allegations of price-fixing and conspiracy in commissions paid to travel agents in foreign countries. Gordon held two positions in the American Bar Association’s Section of Antitrust Law: He chaired the Federal Circuit task force on the section’s intellectual property committee and now co-chairs the whole IP committee. Gordon has also testified before the Federal Trade Commission during IP and antitrust hearings, and regularly writes as an antitrust expert.
