Shame on JAMS for flip-flopping on the class action arbitration clause [" JAMS reverses class action policy," March 11]. Caving in to the pressure of corporate interests, JAMS rejected its prior policy, which guaranteed fairness to all, while casting doubt on its neutrality. JAMS had a choice between what is right and what is profitable and chose profit. JAMS lined up clearly on the side of the corporate interests and against claimants. Proponents of pre-dispute mandatory arbitration/class action agreements want to ensure that consumers not have access to the equal footing provided by our courts, and JAMS’ new policy will further that business goal. Surely many will think twice before considering JAMS in the future. Thomas J. Brandi San Francisco
