Previously head of Morrison & Foerster’s health care group, Olejko represents health care entities in all legal issues from initial growth, development and ongoing operations through sophisticated transactions. He is a 1977 graduate of Washington University School of Law. Foley & Lardnerhas elevated litigators John Douglasand Kevin Woodallto partnership. Douglas’ practice focuses on union, employment, wage and hour, trade secret and competition issues. He is a 1995 graduate of Boalt Hall School of Law. Woodall has represented clients on various union, employment and general litigation matters. He received his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1995. Thao Ngohas joined Reed Smithas counsel in the investment management group. Formerly with Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, Ngo counsels investment advisers, broker-dealers and investment companies in all aspects of state and federal securities laws. He is a 1997 graduate of the University of San Francisco School of Law. Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthalhas added Kevin Haroffas a partner in the firm’s environmental practice group. Haroff’s expertise includes international environmental law, especially Asia. Most recently he led Squire, Sanders & Dempsey’s West Coast environmental and natural resources practice. Joseph Meckeshas been elected partner at Squire, Sanders & Dempsey.Meckes is experienced in international commercial dispute resolution, class action defense and IP litigation. He is a 1997 graduate of Golden Gate University School of Law. Edward Donohuehas joined Carlson, Calladine & Petersonas a partner. Donohue, a 1981 Georgetown University Law Center graduate, previously worked for Foreman & Dyess in Houston and joined Long & Levit in 1989. He specializes in commercial, professional liability and securities litigation. Legal search firm Major, Hagen & Africahas added Sarah Schaderas a managing director. Previously Schader was a corporate associate at Morrison & Foerster and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. She earned her J.D. from Stanford Law School. South Bay Noted death penalty litigator and clinical professor Larry Marshallhas been chosen to be director of clinical education at Stanford Law School. Marshall was a longtime professor at Northwestern University School of Law and founded its Center on Wrongful Convictions. He received his J.D. in 1985 from Northwestern. Intellectual property litigator Brandon Baumhas joined the Palo Alto office of Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Mawas a partner. Previously Baum was a partner at Cooley Godward; he has represented industry leaders in telecommunications and computer hardware and software. Baum is a 1985 graduate of Hastings College of the Law. Berliner Cohenin San Jose has promoted estate planning attorney Brian Shetlerto partner. Shetler earned his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law and a master’s in taxation from Golden Gate University School of Law. East Bay Archer Norrisin Walnut Creek has added Jiyon Yunas an associate on the complex asbestos litigation team. Yun received her J.D. in 1996 from Hastings College of the Law. Southern California Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walkerhas added Robert Freilichas of counsel in the real estate department in Los Angeles. Freilich, a nationally recognized land use specialist, was formerly at Freilich, Leitner & Carlisle in Kansas City, Mo. He received his J.D. from Yale University Law School in 1957. Kaye Scholerhas promoted Pamela Yatesto partner in the litigation department of the Los Angeles office. Yates’ primary focus has been in the area of product liability; she has defended thousands of mass tort claims involving pharmaceuticals and medical devices. She is a 1988 graduate of Southwestern University School of Law. Archer Norrishas added two associates in Los Angeles to the toxic tort and complex asbestos litigation team.
