ARENT FOX Michael Taylor, 33, has joined Arent Fox as an associate in the firm’s OSHA practice. Most recently, Taylor served as acting general counsel to the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission and as chief counsel to the commission’s chairman, W. Scott Railton. He received his J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and his LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center. BUREAU OF ALCOHOL, TOBACCO, FIREARMS, AND EXPLOSIVES W. Larry Ford, 43, a special agent who has served as deputy assistant director in the office of field operations for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives since April, has been appointed assistant director for the bureau’s office of public and governmental affairs. In this capacity, Ford will direct media, legislative, and public affairs for the bureau. PATTON BOGGS Stephen McHale, former deputy administrator of the Transportation Security Administration, has joined Patton Boggs as a partner in its public policy practice. McHale, 49, received his J.D. from American University Washington College of Law. ROPES & GRAY Alyssa Albertelli, 39, has been promoted to partner at Ropes & Gray. She specializes in regulatory and transactional matters of investment companies, along with mergers and acquisitions. She also counsels private companies on status issues under the securities laws. Albertelli received her J.D. from Boston University School of Law. SANDS ANDERSON MARKS & MILLER Timothy Halloran has joined the McLean, Va., office of Sands Anderson Marks & Miller as an associate in the business and professional litigation practice group. He will concentrate on professional liability and commercial litigation. Halloran, 28, previously was an associate with Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson. He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. WILMER CUTLER PICKERING HALE AND DORR Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr has announced that 10 of counsel have been elected to the firm’s partnership. David Heffernan, 41, is a partner in the firm’s aviation department. He received his J.D. from Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. Jody Kris, 36, is a partner in the litigation department. She received her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. Jonathan Paikin, 33, is a partner in the litigation group. He received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Kim Parker, 34, is a partner in the litigation department. She received her law degree from Harvard Law School. Paul Wolfson, 43, is a partner in the litigation department. He received his J.D. from Yale Law School. Matt Chambers, 47, is a partner in the firm’s securities department. He received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. Chris Davies, 34, is a partner in the securities department. He received his law degree from Stanford Law School.
