San Francisco Carroll, Burdick & McDonoughhas added 10 attorneys, including seven in San Francisc Of counsel James Cunninghamand associates Stephen Frayne, Robert Binion, Arthur David Bona, Alissa Harris, Andrea Rosenthaland Lee Sullivan. An expert in asbestos-related litigation, Cunningham also will be working out of the Los Angeles office. He previously was a partner at Scadden Hamilton & Ryan and practiced with Low, Ball & Lynch. He earned his J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law in 1985. Frayne, also focused on asbestos matters, brings experience in product and professional liability and insurance coverage litigation. He is a 1995 graduate of the University of Arizona’s law school. Binion joins the complex insurance coverage practice from Liner Yankelevitz Sunshine & Regenstreif. He is a 2003 Boalt Hall School of Law graduate. Bona comes from Thornton, Taylor, Becker & Shinn and is a 2000 UCLA School of Law graduate. Harris, most recently from Downey Brand, has handled appellate matters and construction cases. She is 2002 graduate of Boalt Hall. Previously with Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold, Rosenthal will focus on real estate litigation. She earned her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1991. Sullivan joins from Bingham McCutchen, where she focused on appellate and complex civil litigation. She is a 1999 Georgetown University Law Center graduate. Jason Leehas joined Shartsis, Friese& Ginsburg’s securities enforcement defense group. Previously Lee was a senior counsel at the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement. He received his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1997 and his LL.M. in securities and financial regulations from Georgetown University Law Center in 1998. South Bay Manatt, Phelps & Phillipshas added John Heberand Craig Tanneras partners in Palo Alto. Heber and Tanner will lead the global equity compensation and employment practice, a newly organized unit within the firm’s tax, employee benefits and global compensation practice group. Heber comes from KPMG where he served as national director of the global compensation services group. He is a 1994 graduate of Chicago-Kent College of Law. Tanner previously worked at White & Case where his practice focused on global equity and cash compensation programs, employment matters, workplace and employee privacy and cross-border financial products. He received his J.D. from the University of San Francisco in 1993. Sacramento Carroll, Burdick & McDonoughhas added Tania Colderbankand Jason Jasmineas associates. Colderbank is experienced in medical malpractice defense, health care fraud, products liability and employment litigation. She is a 2000 graduate of McGeorge School of Law at University of the Pacific. Formerly with Swanson & Antognini and Goldsberry, Freeman & Swanson, Jasmine has experience in insurance defense, bad faith and commercial litigation. He earned his J.D. from UC-Davis’ King Hall School of Law in 2001. Southern California Stroock & Stroock & Lavanhas named Stephen Newmana partner in its Los Angeles office. Newman has extensive experience in the defense of class actions and “quasi-class” actions brought under the state’s unfair competition law.
