BETTER BUSINESS BUREAUS Timothy Muris, former chairman of the Federal Trade Commission, was elected to the board of directors of the Council of Better Business Bureaus at the 2004 International Assembly of Better Business Bureaus. The council works to foster consumer-to-business relationships and to increase consumer confidence. Muris, a professor at George Mason University School of Law, has been elected to serve a three-year term as a public member of the board. LEGAL MARKETING ASSOCIATION Kim Perret, director of marketing at Sutherland Asbill & Brennan, has been voted president-elect of the Legal Marketing Association, a nonprofit professional association that provides its members with a network of professional support and information sharing within the legal marketing field. Perret will begin her one-year term in January. LICENSING EXECUTIVES SOCIETY Patrick O’Reilley, a partner at the intellectual property firm of Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, has been elected president of the Licensing Executives Society U.S.A. and Canada, where he will serve a one-year term.
