BAKER BOTTS Baker Botts has promoted four associates to partner. Michael Calhoon, 37, focuses on commercial litigation and international arbitration. He received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law. Gregory Golden, 35, specializes in corporate and securities as well as legislation and policy. He graduated from the University of Richmond School of Law. Nikesh Patel, 32, focuses on corporate and securities as well as project development. He received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Mary Ann Poirier, 34, specializes in energy and regulatory issues. She earned her J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School. COVINGTON & BURLING Covington & Burling announces the election of four new partners. Robert Kelner, 37, a former associate, leads the election law practice. He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. Benedict Lenhart, 41, was formerly of counsel in the firm’s insurance practice. He received his law degree from Harvard Law School. Alan Pemberton, 51, also formerly of counsel, heads the government contracts practice group and is vice chair of the public service committee. She received her J.D. from New York University School of Law. CROWELL & MORING Sandra Kristoff has joined the firm as a senior adviser. Kristoff, 55, was formerly senior vice president and chief of staff at the New York Life Insurance Co. She received her J.D. from George Washington University Law School. FEMA David Trissell was appointed general counsel for the Federal Emergency Management Agency and associate general counsel for the Emergency Preparedness and Response Directorate within the Department of Homeland Security. Previously, he was a senior trial attorney at FEMA. Trissell, 36, received his J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. KING & SPALDING King & Spalding has announced the addition of two new partners. Michael Caballero, formerly an associate international tax counsel for the Department of the Treasury, has joined the firm’s tax practice group. Caballero, 35, received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Meghan Magruder, 46, was previously a partner at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr. At King & Spalding she will focus on environmental and toxic tort litigation. She received her J.D. from Emory University School of Law. KIRKLAND & ELLIS Kirkland & Ellis announces the promotion of seven associates to partner. Six of the former associates are in the litigation practice.
