AKIN GUMP Arthur Wineburg, 61, has joined Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld as a partner. His practice focuses on intellectual property litigation in federal courts and before the International Trade Commission. Before joining Akin Gump, Wineburg was a partner at Pillsbury Winthrop and co-chair of its intellectual property litigation practice. He received his J.D. from George Washington University Law School. CATO INSTITUTE Jim Harper, editor of Privacilla.org, has joined the Cato Institute as director of information policy studies, but will stay as editor at Privacilla. At the Cato Institute, he will continue his research and writing on privacy and other information policy issues. Harper, 36, received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. HELLER EHRMAN Susan Taylor has joined Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe as a partner and a member of its energy practice group. Taylor, 40, served previously as attorney adviser for the Office of the General Counsel of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. She received her law degree from the University of Melbourne. KIRKPATRICK & LOCKHART Jeannine Rupp, 30, rejoins Kirkpatrick & Lockhart as director of professional and personal life integration, after leaving to receive her master’s of science degree in organizational and social psychology. LOEFFLER JONAS & TUGGEY Wallace Henderson, 60, has joined Loeffler Jonas & Tuggey as of counsel in the government affairs practice. Most recently, Henderson was vice president of congressional affairs for the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association. He also worked as a private consultant. Henderson received his J.D. from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center. NIXON PEABODY ElChino Martin has joined Nixon Peabody as of counsel in the firm’s real estate practice group. Martin, 43, served previously as chief of staff in the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development in D.C. He received his J.D. from Yale Law School. SONNENSCHEIN NATH & ROSENTHAL Douglas Bonner, 45, joins Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal as a partner. He will direct the firm’s communications and media practice. Bonner worked previously as a partner at LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae, leading the firm’s telecommunications department. He received his J.D. from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. STERNE, KESSLER, GOLDSTEIN & FOX Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox announces the arrival of seven new associates. Bashir Ali, 45, joins the firm’s biotechnology/chemical group. He worked previously as a patent coordinator for the Kimberly-Clark Corp. He earned his J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law. Shannon Carroll, 32, joins the biotechnology/chemical group, after earning her J.D. from George Mason University School of Law. Matthew Kelley, 27, also joins the biotechnology/chemical group, after earning his J.D. from George Mason University School of Law. Jon Wright, 34, joins the firm’s electronics group. He returns to the firm after serving as a law clerk to Judge Alvin Schall of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Wright earned his J.D. from George Mason University School of Law. Wesley Jones, 28, also joins the electronics group, after earning his J.D. at University of Virginia School of Law. Anbar Khal, 26, joins the mechanical group, after receiving her J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law. Nicole Kramer, 25, also joins the firm’s mechanical group, after earning her J.D. from George Mason University School of Law. SPRIGGS & HOLLINGSWORTH Spriggs & Hollingsworth has announced the addition of two associates from Keller and Heckman, both of whom will work in the firm’s toxic torts and products liability group. In addition, the firm appointed a new medical analyst. Luther Hajek, 34, received his J.D. from George Washington University Law School. John Fagg Jr., 27, received his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law. Noreen Kompanik, 48, will assist the firm with management and analysis of medical records, development of medical chronologies, and medical research. Kompanik worked previously as a medical case manager at the Department of Energy. She is a certified medical-legal nurse consultant. WILMER CUTLER PICKERING David Seide has joined Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr as of counsel in the securities department. Seide, 48, worked most recently as senior attorney and vice president at Morgan Stanley.
