BAKER, DONELSON Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz announces the hiring of two new partners. John Calender joins the firm as a partner in the antitrust practice group. Calendar, 53, was previously a partner at Howrey Simon Arnold & White. He received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. R. Richard Newcomb also joins as a partner, in the firm’s international practice. Newcomb, 58, previously served as director of the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the Department of the Treasury. He received his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. EPSTEIN BECKER & GREEN Dale Van Demark has joined Epstein Becker & Green as an associate in the national health law practice. Formerly, he served as an associate with Venable. Van Demark, 34, earned his J.D. from Pace University Law School. FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION At the Food and Drug Administration, Sheila Dearybury Walcoff was appointed associate commissioner for external relations, to serve as senior adviser to Lester Crawford, acting commissioner of the FDA. Walcoff, 35, most recently served as a senior associate at Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw. She graduated from Georgetown University Law Center. GOODWIN PROCTER Satish Kin, 39, has joined Goodwin Procter as a partner in the financial services practice. Before joining Goodwin Procter, Kini was a partner at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr. He received his J.D. from Columbia Law School. HAYNES AND BOONE Haynes and Boone welcomes three lawyers, two of whom will join the firm’s new franchise and distribution practice. Jan Gilbert, 39, joins the franchise and distribution practice group as a partner. He is a former partner at Jenkins & Gilchrist and received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law. Carl Zwisler, 56, joins as counsel in the franchise and distribution practice group. He is a former partner at Jenkins & Gilchrist and received his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law. James Wade, 43, joins as a partner in the white collar and antitrust practice group. Wade was formerly chief of the Litigation III Section of the Antitrust Division, Department of Justice. He earned his law degree from George Washington University Law School. KING & SPALDING John Bentivoglio, 40, joins King & Spalding as a partner. He will serve as co-chair of the firm’s FDA/health care group, focusing on fraud and abuse, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, and health care compliance. Bentivoglio is a former partner at Arnold & Porter. He received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. MILLER & CHEVALIER Rocco Femia returns as a partner in Miller & Chevalier’s tax department, after serving as associate international tax counsel at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Office of Tax Policy. Femia, 34, graduated from Georgetown University Law Center. MINTZ LEVIN Samuel Feigin, a partner in Mintz Levin Cohn Ferris Glovsky and Popeo’s employment, labor, and benefits section, has relocated from the firm’s Boston office to its office in Reston, Va. Feigin, 37, received his J.D. from George Washington University Law School. NIXON PEABODY Gregory Doran, 32, has joined Nixon Peabody as an associate in the firm’s syndication practice group. Most recently, Doran was an attorney in the Internal Revenue Service’s Office of Chief Counsel. He received his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law. STAFFWISE LEGAL Gayle Grabow has joined StaffWise Legal as a recruitment specialist. She was formerly with Morgan, Lewis & Bockius as an associate in the antitrust practice. Grabow, 30, received her J.D. from Albany Law School of Union University. TRACE Alexandra Wrage has joined Transparent Agents and Contracting Entities as president, chief counsel, and chairman of the board of directors. Wrage, 40, previously served as international counsel with the Northrop Grumman Corp.
