BLANK ROME Blank Rome announces two new associates. Mark Pratt has joined the firm’s intellectual property and technology practice. Most recently, he was an associate with Morgan & Finnegan. Pratt, 40, graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law. Paul Kim, 34, has joined the health law practice group. Before joining Blank Rome, he was an associate at Gardner Carton & Douglas. Kim graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law. BRACEWELL & PATTERSON Lisa Jaeger, 42, has rejoined Bracewell & Patterson as a partner in the government relations, advocacy, and strategy section. She left the firm to join the Environmental Protection Agency where, most recently, she was the acting general counsel and deputy general counsel. Jaeger received her law degree from Widener University School of Law. BUCHANAN INGERSOLL Ronald Platt has joined Buchanan Ingersoll as director of federal government relations. Most recently Platt, 62, was chair of the government affairs practice group at Greenberg Traurig. GRAY CARY Lisa Prager, the former deputy assistant secretary for export enforcement in the Bureau of Industry and Security at the U.S. Department of Commerce, has joined Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich as a partner in the international trade group. Prager, 47, graduated from Western New England College School of Law. KIRKPATRICK & LOCKHART Kirkpatrick & Lockhart announces the addition of five new attorneys in the D.C. office. Roger Stark, 49, joins as a partner in the project finance practice, where he concentrates on domestic and international energy and infrastructure transactions. Most recently, Stark was at Coudert Brothers. He received his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School. Leslie Zimberg rejoins the firm as of counsel in the hedge fund and venture capital groups. Most recently, Zimberg, 43, was vice president and general counsel for the Potomac Capital Investment Corp. She received her J.D. from Harvard Law School. Michael Pawluk, 30, joins as an associate in the investment management practice. Most recently, he was an associate with Sutherland Asbill & Brennan. He graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law. J. Kenneth Borgerding, 35, also joins K&L as an associate. Most recently, he was regulatory counsel for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. He received his J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law. Arun Murthy, 36, also rejoins the firm as an associate in the investment management practice. Since leaving K&L in 2000, he has worked as an independent management consultant. He received his J.D. from Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. ROBBINS, RUSSELL Gregory Poe, 41, has joined Robbins, Russell, Englert, Orseck & Untereiner as a partner. His practice focuses on complex criminal and civil litigation. Most recently, he was with Crowell & Moring. Poe received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. SHEPPARD, MULLIN Mary Pivec has joined Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton as a partner in the labor and employment practice group. Most recently, she was a partner with Greenberg Traurig. Pivec, 55, received her law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law. SHOOK, HARDY & BACON Christine Hudson has joined Shook, Hardy & Bacon as an associate in the business litigation section. Hudson, 28, was most recently an associate with Wagstaff & Cartmell in Kansas City, Mo. Hudson received her J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law. THOMPSON HINE Michael Zimmer, 54, has joined Thompson Hine as of counsel. Zimmer most recently was with Baker & McKenzie, where he focused his practice on energy regulation and transactions.
