AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION Marc Mayerson, a partner at Spriggs & Hollingsworth, has been named vice chair of the Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee within the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association. In addition, he has also been named to the new task force on federal regulation of insurance within the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section of the ABA. Darrell Prescott, co-chair of the global antitrust practice at Coudert Brothers, was the co-editor of and a contributor to the ABA’s International Practitioner’s Deskbook Series: Joint Ventures in the International Arena. AMERICAN HEALTH LAWYERS ASSOCIATION Thomas Hyatt, a partner at Ober, Kaler, Grimes & Shriver, was the recipient of the David J. Greenburg Service Award, given by the American Health Lawyers Association. The Greenburg Award honors an individual who has made significant contributions to the AHLA throughout his career. Hyatt is chair emeritus and serves on the faculty of the AHLA’s annual tax issues in health care organizations seminar and is past chair of the AHLA’s tax and finance practice group. FAIRFAX COUNTY CoC Richard Duvall, a partner in the Tysons Corner, Va., office of Holland & Knight, was named chairman of the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce. Duvall spent four years on the chamber’s executive committee, was a co-chair of the Northern Virginia Government Contracts Council, and led the formation of the International Business Exchange Council’s two chamber initiatives. U.S.-SPAIN COUNCIL Susan Santana, a senior associate at Holland & Knight, was selected to be one of 15 participants in the “2004 Young Hispanic Leaders Program.” The nationwide program is designed to foster relationships between Hispanic leaders in the United States and Spanish leaders in business, politics, and academics. WHO’S WHO LEGAL Piper Rudnick has been ranked the number one law firm in the world in the area of franchise law according to The International Who’s Who of Franchise Lawyers, published by Who’s Who Legal. Lawyers and law firms are nominated and then chosen based on independent research criteria.
