AKIN GUMP STRAUSS HAUER & FELD Bruce Lehman, 58, has joined Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld as senior counsel. Lehman will also continue as chairman of the International Intellectual Property Institute. He received his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School. CLIFFORD CHANCE James Hart Holden has joined Clifford Chance as a partner in the antitrust practice. Most recently he was deputy assistant director for the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition, Mergers I Division. Holden, 40, received his J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. COLLIER SHANNON SCOTT The firm announces three new hires. Barry Pollack, 39, joins the litigation group as a partner. Most recently, he was a partner at Nixon Peabody. Pollack received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Mathew Nosanchuk, 39, joins the firm as of counsel in the litigation and government relations practice groups. Most recently, he was the litigation director and legislative counsel for the Violence Policy Center. He received his J.D. from Stanford Law School. Jill Samuels,37, also joins as of counsel in the advertising and marketing practice group. Most recently, she was part of the legal staff of the General Motors Corp. She graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law. DYKEMA GOSSETT Amy Bacsa,31, has joined Dykema Gossett’s government policy department. Most recently, she was director of federal relations for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. GARDNER CARTON & DOUGLAS Robert Waters joins Gardner Carton & Douglas’ health law department and will chair the government relations practice. He is a former partner at Arent Fox. Waters, 48, received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. KING & SPAULDING King & Spalding has added three new lawyers and two consultants to its international trade group. All five come from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr’s government and regulatory group. Gilbert Kaplan joins the firm as a partner. Kaplan, 52, was the chair of Hale and Dorr’s government and regulatory affairs group. He graduated from Harvard Law School. Cris Revaz, 45, joins as of counsel. He received his J.D. from Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. Kwang Woong “Ted” Kim, 38, joins as an associate. He earned his LL.M. from George Washington University Law School and his LL.B. from Yonsei University, College of Law, Seoul, Korea. Bonnie Byers, 46, joins as a senior consultant. Rebecca Woodings,43, joins as a consultant. MCGUIREWOODS Amanda Scandlen, 28, has joined the Tysons Corner office of McGuireWoods as an associate in the labor and employment department. Most recently, she was an associate with Jennings, Strouss & Salmon. She graduated from the College of Law at Arizona State University. POWERS PYLES SUTTER & VERVILLE Stephanie Webster,35, has been promoted to partner at Powers Pyles Sutter & Verville. Her practice consists of administrative and federal court litigation and regulatory work with Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement. Webster graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law. SECURITIES INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION Ira Hammerman, 43, has joined the Securities Industry Association as senior vice president and general counsel. Most recently, he was a partner at Clifford Chance and a former managing partner in the D.C. office. Hammerman received his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. SONNENSCHEIN NATH & ROSENTHAL Howard Rubin has joined Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal as a partner in the litigation and the information security and Internet enforcement groups. Rubin, 34, was most recently a partner at Shea & Gardner, where he focused on complex civil litigation.
