AKERMAN SENTERFITT Allan Katz,57, has been named the managing shareholder of the Washington, D.C., and Tallahassee, Fla., offices of Akerman Senterfitt. Katz is the founding partner of Florida-based Katz, Kutter, Alderman & Bryant, which merged with Akerman Senterfitt earlier this year. He received his J.D. from American University Washington College of Law. DOW, LOHNES To-Quyen Truong,38, has been named practice group leader for Dow, Lohnes & Albertson’s telecommunications group. Truong joined the firm in 2000 from the Federal Communications Commission. She received her J.D. from Yale Law School. FELDESMAN TUCKER Kathy Ghiladihas been named a partner of Washington, D.C.’s Feldesman Tucker Leifer Fidell. She is a member of the government contracts, federal grants, and health law practice groups. Ghiladi, 36, graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law. GREENBERG TRAURIG Greenberg Traurig announces three new additions to its government contracts practice in the Tysons Corner, Va., office. L. James D’Agostino,53, has joined the firm as a shareholder. D’Agostino was a former partner at Reed Smith. He received his J.D. from George Mason University School of Law. Natalia Geren,31, has joined the firm as an associate in the export control practice. She graduated from South Texas College of Law. David Hickey,38, also has joined the firm as an associate. He specializes in government contracts and government relations. Hickey graduated from Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. KILPATRICK STOCKTON Cary Zukhas joined Kilpatrick Stockton as an associate in the antitrust and trade regulation practice. Zuk, 28, most recently was an attorney in the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition. She received her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. LOEFFLER JONAS & TUGGEY Loeffler Jonas & Tuggey announces a major expansion of its government affairs practice with four new additions. Joseph Mondello,38, has joined the firm as a partner. Most recently, he was senior counsel and legislative director for Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas). Mondello graduated from Hofstra University School of Law. Julie Domenick,58, a former executive vice president of the Investment Company Institute, has joined the firm as a managing principal. Dallas “Rob” Sweezy,47, has joined the firm as a principal from the Department of Health and Human Services, where he was director of public and intergovernmental affairs for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Kristen Palasciano Gullott,29, also has joined the firm as a principal. Most recently she was a policy adviser for the Office of Fossil Energy at the Department of Energy. NATIONAL LAW CENTER ON HOMELESSNESS AND POVERTY The National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty announces two new staff additions. Rebecca Troth,48, has joined the center as legal director. Troth was most recently an instructor at American University Washington College of Law. She received her law degree from the University of Michigan Law School. Naomi Stern,29, has joined the center as a staff attorney through a Women’s Law and Public Policy Program Fellowship. Stern graduated from Georgetown University Law Center. POWERS, PYLES James Jorling,45, has joined Powers, Pyles, Sutter & Verville as a principal. Most recently he was a partner at Gardner, Carton & Douglas. His practice focuses on health care issues. Jorling received his J.D. from the University of Cincinatti College of Law. ROBINS, KAPLAN Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi announces the addition of a new partner and a new associate. David Swenson,36, has rejoined the firm as a partner. He was formerly an intellectual property partner with Kirkland & Ellis. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School. Andrew Udin,27, has joined the firm as an associate. Udin’s practice focuses on antitrust law, health and hospital law, securities litigation, and general civil litigation. He received his J.D. from American University Washington College of Law. TYCKO, ZAVAREEI Bruce Spiva,38, has joined Tycko, Zavareei & Spiva as a partner, concentrating on civil rights, antitrust, and general litigation. In addition, the firm has changed its name to Tycko, Zavareei & Spiva to reflect the addition of Spiva, who most recently was a partner in Jenner & Block’s Washington, D.C., office.
