ALSTON & BIRD Colin Roskey has joined the D.C. office of Alston & Bird as counsel. Roskey, 31, provides policy and strategic advice on statutory and regulatory issues affecting health care services. Roskey was most recently health policy adviser and counsel to the U.S. Senate Finance Committee. Roskey holds a law degree from American University Washington College of Law. ARENT FOX Arent Fox Kinter Plotkin & Kahn has elected four associates to partnership in its D.C. office. Melissa Bailey, 36, has a government relations practice and a litigation practice, where she focuses on occupational safety and health. Bailey received her law degree from the University of Kansas School of Law. Steven Cohen, 33, specializes in mergers and acquisitions, securities, e-commerce, and commercial law. He received his law degree from New York University School of Law. Mark Langdon, 35, is a member of the health practice, representing health care providers. He received his law degree from Cornell Law School. Evan Stolove, 35, focuses on intellectual property litigation. Stolove graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law. BLANK ROME Blank Rome has added two associates in its D.C. office. Both are recent law school graduates. Charles Blocksidge, 31, concentrates his practice on maritime and environmental law. He received his law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law. Melissa Pierre, 25, focuses on general litigation. She received her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. JONES DAY Jones Day promoted four attorneys to partner in the D.C. office. Former associate Jonathan Berman, 35, practices commercial litigation focusing on antitrust matters. He received his J.D. from Columbia Law School. Karl Kellar, 49, practices general tax law, concentrating on international tax issues. The former of counsel received his J.D. from Harvard Law School. Peter Love, 35, is a member of the government regulation group focusing on antitrust regulation. A former associate, Love received his law degree from the University of Chicago Law School. Former of counsel Kevyn Orr focuses on financial transactions and insolvency-related litigation. Orr, 45, graduated from University of Michigan Law School. REED SMITH Reed Smith has elected five lawyers to partnership in its D.C., Northern Virginia, and Richmond, Va., offices. Jose Fuentes, 49, works in the government services group in the D.C. office, where he is federal government relations director. The former counsel graduated from Puerto Rico’s Inter-American University School of Law. Leigh Hansson, 33, is a member of the government services group in the District. Formerly an associate, Hansson graduated from Pennsylvania State University, Dickinson School of Law. J. Phillip London Jr., 37, focuses on real estate work in the D.C. and Northern Virginia offices. The former associate graduated from Emory University School of Law. Former associate Hannah Thompson focuses on securities and tax in the Northern Virginia and Pittsburgh offices. Thompson, 37, is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Law School. Anne Devens, 36, is a member of the market trial group and practices commercial litigation in the Northern Virginia office. The former associate graduated from George Mason University School of Law. THOMPSON, O’DONNELL D.C.’s Thompson, O’Donnell, Markham, Norton & Hannon has promoted two attorneys. Matthew Carlson, 34, was elevated from associate to partner. His practice focuses on litigating tort, contract, and workers’ compensation matters, as well as business and employment practices counseling. He is a graduate of Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. Sarah Elizabeth Roland, 27, was elevated from law clerk to associate. She practices civil litigation and represents Foreign Service officers. She is a graduate of Suffolk University Law School. WINSTON & STRAWN Winston & Strawn has promoted eight associates to partner in its D.C. office. John Ates, 35, works on labor and employment matters, including litigation and counseling. He graduated from Vanderbilt Law School. H. Allen Black III, 46, concentrates on regulatory work in maritime law. Black graduated from the College of William and Mary Marshall-Wythe School of Law. M. Carter DeLorme, 33, is a member of the labor and employment relations practice. He graduated from Georgetown University Law Center. Marion Goldberg, 56, focuses on health care regulatory and transactional matters. Goldberg holds a law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law.
