GREENBERG TRAURIG James Bacchus has joined Greenberg Traurig in its Orlando, Fla., and Washington, D.C., offices as a partner. Bacchus, 54, was most recently a member and chairman of the World Trade Organization Appellate Body. He is chairman of the firm’s global trade practice group and received his J.D. from Florida State University College of Law. HARRIS, WILTSHIRE & GRANNIS Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis has promoted Damon Ladson from technology policy adviser to partner. Ladson, 43, who is not a lawyer, advises clients on technology policy issues. He received a bachelor’s of science degree from Cornell University. JONES DAY Deborah Platt Majoras has rejoined Jones Day as a partner in its antitrust and competition law practice. Majoras, 40, was recently principal deputy assistant attorney general of the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division. She graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law. LECLAIR RYAN LeClair Ryan has added two attorneys in its Alexandria, Va., office. James Fitzpatrick, 42, is a partner in the medical malpractice and products liability group. Previously, Fitzpatrick was an associate at McDermott, Will & Emery in Chicago. He graduated from Northwestern University School of Law. Brian Rhatigan, 61, also joins the medical malpractice defense group as a partner. He was previously with the St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Co. as regional medical coordinator, senior trial counsel, and manager of the Fairfax, Va., staff attorney office. He graduated from the University at Buffalo Law School, State University of New York. MCKEE NELSON McKee Nelson has elevated two attorneys to partner and one to counsel in Washington, D.C. Former associate Hartman Blanchard, 34, has been promoted to partner. He focuses on large case federal tax litigation and graduated from George Washington University Law School. Michael Desmond, 35, has been promoted to partner. He is a former associate and concentrates on tax controversies and litigation matters. Desmond graduated from Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. Phillip Kardis II, 42, has been promoted to counsel. The former associate specializes in corporate securities transactions, representation of high-tech companies, and international transactions. Kardis received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Beth Brinkmann, 45, is a member of the firm’s litigation department in the District and focuses on U.S. Supreme Court and other appellate matters. Brinkmann, formerly an of counsel, received her J.D. from Yale Law School. Peter Davis, 40, works in the firm’s Northern Virginia office. He specializes in patent litigation, patent prosecution, and strategic counseling. The former of counsel graduated from Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. Laura Morrison, 31, practices commercial disputes, health care, antitrust, and trade regulation. While in law school, she was a clerk for the U.S. Office Products Co., and before that, a legislative correspondent for Rep. John Duncan (R-Tenn.). She earned her J.D. at American University Washington College of Law. Olabisi Onisile, 26, focuses her practice on health care fraud litigation and securities litigation. While in law school, she was a judicial extern for Judge Karen Nelson Moore of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit, and before that, a clerk for the United Transportation Union. She received her J.D. from Cleveland State University Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. Bethany Wimsatt, 25, practices in international business and litigation. She was a summer associate at Porter Wright and earned her J.D. at Georgetown University Law Center. POWELL, GOLDSTEIN William Steinman has joined the Washington, D.C., office of Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy as a partner. Steinman, 35, works in the government and construction contracts practice and focuses on international corporate and defense and aerospace issues. Previously he was a partner at Winston & Strawn. He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School. VENABLE Jeffrey Eichen, 38, has joined Venable as a partner in its intellectual property litigation group in Washington, D.C. Eichen was formerly a partner in the Philadelphia office of Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis. He earned his J.D. at Georgetown University Law Center. WILEY REIN & FIELDING Wiley Rein & Fielding has elected six new partners and one new of counsel. Jennifer Hindin, 32, practices communications law and represents clients before the Federal Communications Commission. The former associate graduated from New York University School of Law. Former associate Charles Lemley practices commercial and employment litigation. Lemley, 43, received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Kevin Maynard‘s practice includes representing clients on federal, state and local procurement matters. Maynard, 34, was an associate and graduated from George Washington University Law School. Gregg Bernstein, 48, joins the firm in its Baltimore office as a partner.
