EIGHT ELEVATED AT ORRICK, HERRINGTON Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe has elevated eight lawyers to partner, bringing its partnership ranks to 268. The 675-attorney firm promoted fewer lawyers than last year, when 13 were named partner. This year’s class is spread out through seven of Orrick’s 12 offices and represents various practice groups. Only one lawyer was promoted from the firm’s Bay Area offices, intellectual property attorney Heidi Keefe. Based in Menlo Park, Keefe obtained her law degree from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1995. Employment lawyer Julie Totten, a 1993 graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law, joined the partnership in Sacramento. And Los Angeles litigator Tina Tran, a 1996 graduate of Boalt Hall School of Law, was also promoted. Two lawyers were elevated in the Washington, D.C., office: litigator Adam Goldberg, a 1994 graduate of Harvard Law School, and structured finance lawyer Kenneth Yellen, a 1995 graduate of Boston University School of Law. The other new partners include New York litigator Morton Dubin, a 1995 graduate of the University of Michigan Law School; Seattle corporate lawyer Alan Smith, who graduated in 1996 from Stanford Law School; and James Tervo, a 1972 graduate of the University of Michigan Law School who is a real estate lawyer in Orrick’s Tokyo office. — Brenda Sandburg
