HELLER EHRMAN TAPS NINE FOR PARTNERSHIP Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe promoted nine attorneys to its partnership, the firm announced Wednesday. The new partner class is the largest since 2001 when Heller elevated 14 attorneys. Eight of this year’s nine-attorney partner class practice some form of litigation, working in groups including energy, intellectual property and antitrust and securities. Four of the new partners are in California, with half in the San Francisco office and half in the San Diego office. “The class of 2004 adds further depth and strength to our shareholder ranks and continues to build on the significant growth we experienced in 2003,” said Chairman Barry Levin in a statement. The two new San Francisco partners are Heather Leal and Sarah Elizabeth Mitchell. Leal joined Heller in 1996 after graduating from Harvard Law School. She has a diverse complex commercial litigation practice, with an emphasis on environmental litigation and antitrust litigation. Mitchell, who also earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School, practices in the firm’s intellectual property litigation group. She has experience in patent, copyright, trade secret and licensing cases. — Alexei Oreskovic
