King Jr., former Maine governor, has joined the firm’s legislative and government relations practice as special counsel. Honored Stephen J. Dannhauser, chairman of New York’s Weil, Gotshal & Manges, has received the Award for Outstanding Service given by the New York Police Department in recognition of his support as president and board member of the New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund. Robert F. Drinan, professor at Georgetown University Law Center, has received the 2003 Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Institute’s Freedom of Worship Medal, honoring his “becoming one of the most significant advocates for human rights of his generation.” New association National South Asian Bar Association, a nationwide group of Indian and other South Asian lawyers, has been established.
