BAKER BOTTS Baker Botts has added two associates to its D.C. office. Brooksany Barrowes, 28, has rejoined the trial department to concentrate on white-collar criminal defense, commercial litigation, regulatory enforcement matters, internal corporate investigations, and corporate compliance issues. Barrowes was a principal attorney at Reliant Resources and holds a law degree from the University of Chicago Law School. David Haddock, 34, has joined the corporate department to focus on mergers, acquisitions, securities matters, broadcast cable media, telecommunications, and advertising industries. Haddock was an associate general counsel at PSINet Inc. and received his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. Millett, 27, was a paralegal at Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy and is a graduate of American University Washington College of Law. LAW OFFICES OF JOHN R. BUNKER Jennifer Henderson Ruiz, 31, has joined the Law Offices of John R. Bunker as of counsel in the District. A former Army captain and Black Hawk helicopter pilot, Ruiz was most recently a litigation associate at King & Spalding. She is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and received her law degree from Duke University School of Law. HOGAN & HARTSON Hogan & Hartson has added Jeffrey Hurlburt as a partner in the firm’s D.C. and London capital markets practice. Most recently, Hurlburt was a partner at Dorsey & Whitney. Hurlburt, 40, holds a law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law. MCGUIREWOODS McGuireWoods has expanded into private equity with the addition of Robert Marks as a partner in Tyson’s Corner, Va. Marks has joined the corporate services department and the private equity group. Most recently, he was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis. Marks, 34, earned his law degree from Harvard Law School. PATTON BOGGS Patton Boggs has expanded its energy practice group with the addition of six lawyers in the firm’s D.C. office. Amy Koch, 47, has joined as a partner to advise clients on electrical and power plant supply transactions, electricity restructuring, and new competitive marker opportunities in the United States and abroad. Koch was a partner at Cameron McKenna and holds a law degree from George Washington University Law School. Debbie Swanstrom, 40, has joined as a partner. Swanstrom will litigate on electric and gas matters before the federal energy regulatory commission and the federal courts. Swanstrom was a partner at Sullivan & Worcester and is a graduate of George Washington University Law School. Judith Andrade, 30, has joined as an associate. Formerly, Andrade was an associate at Cameron McKenna and graduated from Roger Williams University School of Law. Adam Moniz, 27, has joined as an associate. He was an associate at Sullivan & Worcester. Moniz received his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law and holds an LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center. Jennifer Schwitzer, 30, has joined as an associate. Most recently, Schwitzer was an associate at Cameron McKenna. She holds a law degree from the University of Tulsa College of Law. Jennifer Tribulski, 35, has joined as an associate. Tribulski was an associate with Sullivan & Worcester and graduated from Quinnipiac University School of Law. REED SMITH Reed Smith has expanded its business and finance department in Falls Church, Va., with the addition of two former Morgan, Lewis & Bockius attorneys. Bruce Markowitz, 49, has joined as a partner to concentrate on corporate, restructuring, and real estate transactions. Markowitz was a partner in the business transactions group at Morgan, Lewis. He is a graduate of American University Washington College of Law. Susan Chasnov, 27, has joined as an associate to focus on corporate financing and transactions, telecommunications, securities, and mergers and acquisitions.
