EMPLOYMENT herrick corp. settled a lawsuit alleging harassment on the basis of national origin and religion for $1.11 million. The action was brought by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on behalf of four former employees of Herrick subsidiary Stockton Steel. The employees, all Pakistani-Americans, claimed that their foreman ridiculed them during their daily Muslim prayer and subjected them to derogatory name-calling. The company argued that the alleged harassment either did not occur or was not pervasive or was investigated and corrected. The March 18 consent decree contains no admission of liability. EEOC v.
