BROBECK PICKUPS Two more Brobeck landings: Crowell & Moring has added Scott Feldmann, who worked at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison since 1995, as counsel in its Irvine, Calif., office. Feldmann, 41, focuses on intellectual property counseling and litigation. On the other coast, Covington & Burling picked up Ellen Corenswet, 52, as a partner in New York. Corenswet was a business and technology lawyer at Brobeck, representing emerging companies as well as venture capitalists and investment banks. — Richard Barbieri FRANCHISE PLAYERS Arthur Pressman, one of the nation’s best-known franchise litigators, who counts McDonald’s, Dunkin’ Donuts, and 7-Eleven as clients, is leaving Buchanan Ingersoll in Philadelphia along with fellow partners Craig Tractenberg and D.C.-based Andrew Loewinger to join 600-attorney Nixon Peabody. Pressman, 57, will work out of Nixon Peabody’s Boston office, while Loewinger, 49, will be stationed in D.C. Tractenberg, 46, will open a Philadelphia office for Nixon Peabody. With the Philadelphia addition, the firm will have 14 offices, with large offices in D.C., Boston, San Francisco, New York, and Rochester, N.Y. — Jeff Blumenthal PIPER’S L.A. ADDITION Piper Rudnick has added partner Howard Parelskin in its Los Angeles office. A real estate transactional and finance lawyer, Parelskin, 50, joins Piper from the D.C. office of Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw. — R.B.
