BAKER & HOSTETLER John Weber has been appointed to a three-year term on Baker & Hostetler’s policy committee. The committee serves as the firm’s governing body and is composed of 14 partners representing a range of practices. Resident in the firm’s D.C. office, Weber focuses on counseling, opinion work, domestic and foreign prosecution of trademark applications, and licensing and patent litigation. ENVIRONMENTAL LAW INSTITUTE Paul Hagen, a partner in the D.C. office of Beveridge & Diamond, has been appointed to the board of directors of the Environmental Law Institute. Hagen concentrates on U.S. and international environmental law. WICKERSHAM AWARD The Friends of the Law Library of Congress recently honored Patricia Wald with the 11th annual Wickersham Award for exceptional public service and dedication to the legal profession. Wald most recently served as a judge of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia at The Hague, Netherlands. Before joining the the tribunal, Wald spent 20 years on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, serving as chief judge for five of those years. WMACCA The Washington Metropolitan Area Corporate Counsel Association recently announced its new leadership group. Robert Stern, president-elect, became president. Stern is senior vice president and general counsel of Sodexho Inc., a food service company. The organization also elected new officers: Kathy Barlow, president-elect; Marian Block, vice president; Mary Kennard, treasurer; and David Meltzer, secretary. The new directors are Linda Fannin, Michael Finn, Thomas Hickey, Deborah House, and Eric Reicin. Starting their second term as directors are Stern and Robin McCune.
