ONE ELEVATED AT MORGAN, MILLER Walnut Creek real estate law firm Morgan, Miller & Blair has made Daniel Muller a partner. Although the 30-attorney firm has always done public entity work, that practice was solidified when Muller joined the firm, the new partner said. “We have a lot of clients that do real estate development,” said Muller, 36. “But before we didn’t have the manpower or capabilities to do land use entitlements or CEQA,” he said referring to the procedures under the California Environmental Quality Act. Muller, who has been with the firm since 2000, specializes in advising landowners, government agencies and businesses in property disputes. Before he moved to Morgan, Miller, Muller worked at Oakland-based Meyers, Nave, Riback, Silver & Wilson, which specializes in government agency work. Before that, he did land use work at Danville’s Gagen, McCoy, McMahon & Armstrong. Muller graduated from UC-Davis’ King Hall School of Law in 1993. — Jahna Berry EX-WILSON PARTNER MOVES TO JONES DAY Robert Clarkson, a former Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati partner, is returning to big-firm life Monday when he starts work at Jones Day. Clarkson left Wilson in January 1997 to become a business executive at client CKS Group Inc. By the time he left the Internet consulting company in September 2000, it was operating under the name of marchFIRST Inc. and Clarkson was chief operating officer. He then spent more than two years consulting, serving on the board of directors of Symmetricom Inc. and “working on my golf game,” he said. As a Jones Day partner, Clarkson said he will combine his business and legal skills to help market the office among Silicon Valley clients. “I get to come in on the ground floor,” Clarkson said, adding that his hire was another way for Jones Day to “bring in somebody who’s got roots and has been around the Valley for a while.” Clarkson said he started talking to Jones Day in July at the suggestion of Jones Day partner Daniel Mitz, another former Wilson partner who left that firm for an executive job. Mitz joined Jones Day in October 2001 from Sun Microsystems Inc. — Renee Deger
