The Philadelphia Association of Paralegals is a charter member of the NFPA. The NFPA is a professional organization composed of 61 paralegal associations and more than 15,000 individual paralegals throughout the United States and Canada.

In May 1993, the NFPA adopted its Model Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility to delineate the principles for ethics and conduct to which every paralegal should aspire.
