A federal judge has allowed a ­proposed class action lawsuit over wage policies to go forward against a Friendly’s restaurant company that ­operates hundreds of Friendly’s restaurants across the country.

U.S. District Judge Sylvia H. Rambo of the Middle District of Pennsylvania denied motions from Friendly’s Ice Cream Inc., which operates more than 600 Friendly’s restaurants from Maine to Florida. The company had sought to toss the case, arguing, among other things, that the plaintiff failed to show that a joint employment relationship existed between it and its franchisees, the local owners and operators of the restaurants.
