Seven Sayreville, N.J., high school football players accused of sexually assaulting younger teammates as part of a hazing ritual will have their cases heard in family court rather than criminal court.

Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew Carey announced late in the afternoon on Nov. 10 that he would not ask the family court, where the cases are now pending, to waive jurisdiction so the teenage defendants could be tried as adults.
