The defense attorney for a Cobb County beauty salon owner sentenced Monday to 20 years—five to serve in prison and the rest on probation—for invasion of privacy revealed a plea negotiation during which both sides had strengths and weaknesses.

If his case had gone to trial Monday as planned, Mark Allan Storch, 56, owner of the Salon Avenue Suites in East Cobb and Kennesaw, would have told the jury he had a legitimate business reason for placing video cameras in bathrooms, his defense attorney said.
