Allen & Overy and Clifford Chance have advised on the $916 million development, construction and financing of a hydropower project in Laos.
The 290-megawatt Nam Ngiep 1 project is a joint venture between Laos and Thailand, who are working through Lao Holding State Enterprise and EGAT International Co. Ltd., respectively. Japan’s Kansai Electric Power Co. Inc. is also a sponsor of the project.
