Former King & Wood Mallesons Hong Kong partners Larry Kwok and Conrad Chan are leaving to start their own firm.
Both Kwok and Chan advise on mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions. Both joined the former Mallesons Stephen Jaques in 2004 through its merger with Kwok & Yih, the Hong Kong firm Kwok co-founded in 1994 with Dieter Yih, now a Hong Kong partner with Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy.
Kwok became managing partner of Mallesons’ Hong Kong and China practice in 2004 and was subsequently appointed managing partner for Asia strategy and markets after Mallesons combined with King & Wood in 2012.
Chan joined Kwok & Yih as a partner in 2003 from Hong Kong firm Deacons where he was also a partner. Chan was also previously an associate at Kwok & Yih as well as the former Herbert Smith.
