Stephenson Harwood global aviation head Paul Ng is leaving to join the Singapore office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley and McCloy.

Ng, who will lead the Asia aviation practice for Milbank, has advised on several major aircraft transactions in the region in recent years. In January, he advised Vietnamese budget carrier VietJet Aviation Joint Stock Co. on a $9 billion order for up to 92 Airbus aircraft. Last March, he also advised Indonesia’s Lion Air on a $24 billion order for 234 aircraft from Airbus.

Milbank is a leader in aircraft finance in the United States and Europe, and the addition of Ng will bolster the practice in Asia.

Ng joined Stephenson Harwood in 2009 from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he was the Hong Kong–based head of asset finance and aviation. Ng joined Freshfields in London in 1999 and relocated to Hong Kong in 2006. He became a partner the following year.

Milbank currently has 17 lawyers in Singapore. Globally, the New York–based firm has over 600 lawyers in 11 offices.
