“Build it and they will come” is a motto Atlantans have long taken to heart in their efforts to place the city on the map, from the airport and sports stadiums in the 1960s to the Olympics in the 1990s. Now some Atlanta lawyers want to make the city a venue for international arbitration.

They had nothing more than the notion 16 months ago, but after intensive organizing, the newly formed Atlanta International Arbitration Society-ATLAS for short-is hosting a kickoff conference to spotlight Atlanta as a neutral location for commercial contract resolution.
