A 2005 state Supreme Court ruling that put limitations on litigants’ rights to sue their lawyers for malpractice after settling the underlying claims is not so hard to get around.

In a 6-0 ruling Tuesday, the Court said a woman could sue two of her former lawyers for malpractice, even though she voluntarily agreed to settle a property dispute with her former husband.
