Michael Santo, a partner at medical malpractice firm Duffy & Duffy in Uniondale, N.Y., has dressed as Santa Claus for the past 17 years, delivering toys, clothes, food and other items to the homes of needy Long Island families. This year, 18 families were visited by Santo and a team of volunteers that even included a saxophone player.

Michael Santo was 17 when he first donned a white beard and red suit to play Santa for his future sister-in-law, who has Down syndrome.
“I remember her lighting up like a big lightbulb when she was in the presence of Santa,” Santo said.
