The state Supreme Court has agreed to decide whether the state constitution was violated by a law that increased state judges’ pension and health-benefit contributions without concomitantly increasing their salaries.
A trial judge ruled that it was, and Justice Virginia Long signed an order on Wednesday that will allow the state’s appeal to proceed directly to the Court and bypass the Appellate Division.
