SAN FRANCISCO — A former Deloitte tax partner managed to get out from under insider trading charges thanks to his wife taking the rap.

The Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday agreed to dismiss its case against Arnold McClellan in light of Annabel McClellan’s related settlement, in which she agreed to pay $1 million, without admitting guilt. She also has entered a plea agreement in a related criminal case.
