A federal judge on Thursday ruled against Prop 8 donors seeking an exemption from state campaign finance disclosure.

In denying their motion for summary judgment, Sacramento U.S. District Judge Morrison England said from the bench that Prop 8 proponents aren’t members of a minority group that could suffer harm if their identities were exposed, according to San Francisco Deputy City Attorney Mollie Lee, who argued the case for her office. She called the judge’s ruling a boost for an informed electorate.
