Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom is relocating a mergers and acquisitions partner from London to a Hong Kong office battered by the recent departure of two top partners to Kirkland & Ellis.

John Adebiyi, a partner at Skadden since 2001, has worked on a number of high-profile cross-border deals. He had a lead role advising Japan’s Nomura Holdings Inc. on the acquisition of European, Middle Eastern and Asian operations of Lehman Brothers in 2008. More recently, he had been one of the lead partners advising Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. on its recently withdrawn bid to acquire British Sky Broadcasting Group PLC for $12 billion.
