A Metuchen, N.J., lawyer stands accused of trying to bilk four real estate investors out of thousands of dollars in legal fees by fabricating a story about a criminal investigation against them.
Thomas Frey was indicted last week on charges that he, a mortgage broker and an unnamed attorney falsely told the investors they were subjects of an Internal Revenue Service probe.
