SAN FRANCISCO — President Obama today nominated Los Angeles white-collar criminal defense attorney Michael W. Fitzgerald to the Central District bench, marking the president’s fourth nomination of an openly gay federal judicial candidate.
He would be the first openly gay federal judge in California, Sen. Barbara Boxer’s office said in a news release. Boxer recommended him to the White House.
