Nassau County blasted the state-appointed board now in control of its finances after attorneys at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom billed the county some $418,000 for its services to the board through the end of February.

The Nassau County Interim Finance Authority hired Skadden to advise it on its power to take control of county finances and to defend it in expected litigation from the county.
