Kasowitz, Benson, Torres & Friedman plans to open a Silicon Valley office specializing in intellectual property litigation, and it’s lured two patent litigators from Weil, Gotshal & Manges‘ Redwood Shores, Calif., office to help get it started.

Former Weil partner Douglas Lumish, who joined Kasowitz earlier this month, now heads its national IP practice from its San Francisco office, until the firm locates office space in Silicon Valley. Former Weil counsel Jeffrey Homrig has also joined Kasowitz as an IP partner. His first day was Friday.
