SAN FRANCISCO — Lawyers for Cooley and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in San Francisco and Palo Alto helped Intel Corp. and Nvidia Corp. reach a $1.5 billion cross-licensing agreement, ending their legal dispute over a license to make chipsets.

Cooley represented Santa Clara-based Nvidia, with a legal team led by firm Chairman Stephen Neal and litigation Chair Michael Rhodes . Partners John Dwyer , Jeffrey Gutkin , Beatriz Mejia and Kathleen Goodhart also worked on the deal.
