K&L Gates and its partner Sanford Ferguson have succeeded in tossing out a $500 million professional negligence suit filed against them by the trustee of bankrupt beverage maker Le-Nature’s.

Trustee Marc Kirschner sued K&L Gates, Ferguson, accounting firm Pascarella & Wiker and its principal, Carl A. Wiker, for failing to detect fraudulent behavior by Le-Nature’s founder and former CEO Gregory J. Podlucky when the firms were hired to conduct an internal investigation of the company in 2003.
