A Louisiana appeals court has revived a civil suit brought by a receptionist against the law firm where she used to work and where she alleged that she was raped by a partner.

The receptionist, identified as Jane Doe in court documents, seeks to hold the two-partner Hawkins & Villemarette firm liable for the assault. The alleged perpetrator — name partner Scott Hawkins — pleaded guilty to second-degree battery.
