Winston & Strawn saw gross revenue and overall productivity decline modestly last year amid a difficult transactional climate.

Gross revenue in 2009 was down by roughly $40 million, or 5 percent, from the year before, the firm reported Monday. Profits per equity partner held steady at $1.283 million, as did the number of equity partners at the firm (184). Revenue per lawyer dropped 2.6 percent to $835,824. (The firm’s fiscal year ended January 31.)
