Q: I’ve experienced some real turbulence in my employment history. I graduated a few years ago from law school, passed the bar right away, and did a clerkship.

However, I was downsized from two firms, and got a substantive, albeit short contract project after. Networking and volunteering got me nowhere — and I’ve started to go the informational interview route, in hope of building contacts, finding out about a practice area, etc.
